~August Financials/Minutes: August minutes, Irvin motioned, Sally seconded. Motion carried.
Bev made a motion to approve the June financials, Mikel seconded. Motion carried. Sally made a motion to pay all outstanding bills, Bev seconded. Motion carried.
~Kent gave his NRCS report as written. CSP applications are continuous with a cutoff of June 14th and application evaluation completion of July 11th and field verification and obligation deadline of August 30th. There is a back log of nearly 60 EQIP applications; which will help securing funding for next year. All contract reviews have been completed. CRP new continuous enrollments began on May 13th. The opportunity for a contribution agreement came late but is underway with a 75% earning rate for the SWCD with a cap of $30,000 to be earned. Local Work Group meeting was held August 23rd.
~Bev gave her Legislative report. Not much going on since the Illinois General Assembly and U.S. Congress are not in session. Senator Jason Barickman (R-53) received the “Legislator of the Year” award at the AISWCD annual meeting and summer conference in Springfield. The State Pension Reform Committee has been meeting periodically but has not made a final recommendation to date.

~Jackie gave her Watershed report as written. The CIG Evergreen Lake Water Quality Demonstration Project is now complete. The waterway is expected to be seeded in the next several weeks and the monitoring equipment also still needs installed. The Evergreen Lake Beach Area Shoreline Protection Project is still in search of additional funding to complete the White Oak boat ramp area. The total cost is estimated at over $20,000. The 404 permit was received by the Army Corps of Engineers and the site showing was held September 6th. Bids are due and will be publically read on September 10th. Three producers have enrolled in the CRP-CP 39 program, while several others are still being worked with regarding the program. Wayne has completed a draft design for one producer.
~Stephanie gave her AC report as written. The Pond Shocking Demonstration was held at Bill Beeler’s pond in McLean with 24 people in attendance. Fish and Tree sales will be coming up in October with news releases sent out in mid/late September. The SWCDs had a fish/duck pond for children at the Farm Progress Show, which Stephanie worked at one day. The Golf Outing was a success with 28 golfers in attendance and $1305 received in donations. Still awaiting Lake Bloomington Transect Survey information from Alan Gulso. The DIRT newsletter is almost finished, just looking for a couple more articles.

~New Business: The next Board meeting was set for November 13, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. at the USDA Service Center. The meeting concluded at 8:40 a.m.
