~November Financials/Minutes: November minutes, Sally motioned, Irvin seconded. Motion carried.
Irvin made a motion to approve the September financials, Bev seconded. Motion carried. Bev made a motion to pay all outstanding bills, Mikel seconded. Motion carried.
~Kent gave his NRCS report as written. CSP sign up application cutoff will be January 17th with evaluation deadline of February 27th. Still working with 5 producers who have lost land beyond their control. EQIP applications are continuous. There is a back log of nearly 60 EQIP applications; November 15 was the first cutoff and training on ranking payment info is set for December 12. ADAPT Network grower meeting will be held January 14th. The control section for the Grove 2 stage ditch is waiting for completion. Lack of a farm bill has halted any new CRP applications. One wetland has been completed and three others are planned for this fall/winter.
~Bev gave her report as written. DNR has been holding public hearings on the hydraulic fracturing proposed regulations; they will accept written comments until January 3rd. The Illinois General Assembly passed pension legislation on December 3rd and the Governor signed it into law December 5th. It passes 62-53 in the House and 30-24 in the Senate. It will most likely be challenged in the Illinois Supreme Court and it is believed a final decision will not be made for 1-2 years from the time a lawsuit is filed. The Farm Bill may come up for a vote before the U.S. House recessed on December 13th. They have agreed to lower the cuts in the food stamp program.
~Ross gave his RC report as written. Howard Heatherwick’s SSRP application was approved for funding; still waiting on status. Cover Crop tour was held November 20th with 28 in attendance. The Agri-News will feature an article. The State Conservation Cropping Systems Meeting is set for March 13th at HCC. Attended grassed waterway, PFC/SSRP reporting, government shutdown, insurance/records management, cover crops sessions at Winter Training. The Soil Health Seminar will be December 10th at the Asmark Center. Ross contacted expiring CRP contracts with the help of Doug Gass from Pheasants Forever. We have received donations from the fish farm and Stephanie Roth with the Junior Women’s Club for Conservation Day. Irvin made a motion to donate one potted tree and a $50 coupon for our fish sale for the Sportsman’s Club meeting Feb 1st; Bev seconded, motion carried.
~Jackie gave her Watershed report as written. All Evergreen Lake Shoreline Protection Projects have been completed and paid in full for this year. There are two wetlands that have been designed and still scheduled for construction this year. The other two producers are waiting for CRP to open back up. We have received all of the reimbursements for the Intergovernmental Agreement with City of Bloomington, Town of Normal, and McLean County. Jackie has offered her and Stephanie’s assistance with the Friends of EverBloom newsletter. World of Wildlife has been in contact about a contract for potential funding for the Mackinaw River Drinking Watershed Project.
~Stephanie gave her AC report as written. The next issues of the SWCD, DIRT, and Watershed newsletters will go out at the end of January. Stephanie attended IEPA programs, contribution agreement, QuickBooks, records retention, government shutdown, outdoor education, insurance and envirothon sessions at Winter Training. The wreath donated to Festival of Trees brought $130 and was also sponsored for $250 by Dr. Horenkamp & Dr. Sylvester- General & Cosmetic Dentistry.
